In brief

A useful AI MVP completes one valuable user journey. It includes the interface, model workflow, data, account needs, error handling, and a way to evaluate results with real users.

Define the moment of value

Describe the user, the input they provide, and the output they can act on. An AI writing product, for example, needs more than generation: users may need to edit, save, compare, and export the result.

Cut features that do not help complete that first journey. Keep the steps required for a usable result.

Test the uncertain part before the full build

Make an evaluation set from representative inputs, with permission to use them. Include edge cases and decide how quality will be judged.

If the core model workflow cannot meet the required standard, a polished interface will not fix it. Consider a narrower task or human review before expanding the scope.

Request a call

Build the ordinary software carefully

Accounts, validation, permissions, storage, billing, and notifications often determine whether people can use the product reliably. Plan loading states, retries, and what happens when a user returns later.

For mobile products, include device behavior and store requirements. For web products, test keyboard access and small screens alongside desktop.

Make cost and latency visible to the team

Measure how long the core task takes and what it costs under realistic use. Decide what happens when a request times out, a provider is unavailable, or a user reaches a limit.

Keep the interface clear about progress and recovery. Avoid promising an instant result when the workflow may require more time.

Release to learn

Define a small release group, the behavior you want to observe, and a process for collecting feedback. Measure completion and repeat use as well as visits.

Redko builds both client software and products in its founder’s portfolio, including Gameer and Redvest. Tell us what you want users to accomplish and we can help shape the first release.
